NAPLEX Exam Day
What to expect and how to prepare for the day of your NAPLEX exam
What should I bring to the NAPLEX exam?
Bring two forms of valid ID (one with signature, one with photo). Leave everything else in a locker - no phones, watches, food, drinks, or study materials allowed in the testing room. The testing center provides a calculator and scratch paper.
How long is the NAPLEX exam?
You have 5 hours and 55 minutes total, including a tutorial and optional breaks. The exam itself is 225 questions. Most candidates finish in 3-4 hours. You can take breaks, but the clock keeps running.
What is the NAPLEX testing format?
The NAPLEX is a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). Question difficulty adjusts based on your performance. Don't worry if questions seem hard - that means you're performing well. You cannot go back to previous questions.
What should I do the night before the NAPLEX?
Light review only - no heavy studying. Get 7-8 hours of sleep. Prepare your ID and know your testing center location. Eat a normal dinner. Avoid alcohol and caffeine late in the day. Trust your preparation.
What should I eat before the NAPLEX exam?
Eat a balanced breakfast with protein and complex carbs for sustained energy. Avoid heavy, greasy foods that might cause discomfort. Bring a snack for your break. Stay hydrated but don't overdo it to minimize bathroom breaks.
How do I handle exam anxiety during NAPLEX?
Use deep breathing before and during the exam. Take your optional break if feeling overwhelmed. Remember that some anxiety is normal and can help focus. Trust your preparation. If you've taken mock exams, you know what to expect.
